BV-Cornerstone Ventures is a $100 million fund that invests nationwide in
expansion stage companies with $10 million to $50 million in revenue that
are at or near
profitability. The core of the Fund’s strategy is working with highly
successful entrepreneurs and executives who are looking to invest with us
in a platform company and have some level of ongoing involvement with the
company
thereafter. We pursue this strategy in a variety of industries, including
software, business services, financial services, and telecommunications services.
Regardless
of industry, we look for well-managed companies that are differentiated in
a manner that is significant to a meaningful market segment.
Like many venture capital funds, we recognize the value of bringing relevant
industry expertise and operational know-how to bear in helping our portfolio
companies. However, we are unique in our disciplined pursuit of a small number
of successful executives who are interested in co-investing with the Fund
and becoming actively involved in a particular expansion stage company in
a sector where they have domain expertise. We engage these executive co-investors
early in the process, working with them to identify sectors of interest and
evaluate investment opportunities. Post investment, the executive co-investor
typically joins the Company as Chairman, Board Director, Consultant or Senior
Executive, depending on the respective interests of the executive co-investor
and the target Company.
BV-Cornerstone Ventures is backed primarily by two larger private investment
groups, Northern Virginia-based BV Group and Colorado-based Cornerstone Holdings.
Through our investors and the extensive experience of our Principals, we have
access to a significant network of business relationships in multiple industry
sectors. By combining our capital, contacts, deal flow and investing acumen
with the industry expertise of a proven executive, we are able to make sound
investments and ensure profitable growth in our portfolio companies.
